AI gym & active photos
An active shot signals energy and confidence. The trick is keeping it natural and tasteful rather than staged — a candid, mid-activity feel works best.
Best for: Signalling energy, health and confidence.

How to get the active look
- Candid beats posed — mid-movement reads as authentic.
- Good light matters as much here as anywhere.
- One active shot is plenty; balance it with warmer photos.
Take a active photo yourself
- Shoot mid-activity. Climbing, cycling, running or a class reads more natural than posing with weights.
- Use outdoor light where you can. Gym lighting is often harsh and from above.
- Ask someone else to take it. A gym mirror selfie is the version people scroll past.
- Keep your face visible. Helmets and caps are fine in one photo, not all of them.
What to avoid
- Shirtless or flexing shots as your lead. They narrow how people read you; keep one later in the lineup if at all.
- Mirror selfies in the changing room. Cluttered backgrounds and a phone covering your face.
- More than one gym photo. One active shot says enough; balance it with warmer photos.

Active photos — FAQ
Are gym photos good on dating apps?
One natural active photo can show what you enjoy. Several, or a posed mirror selfie, tends to say less about you than you hope.
What counts as an active photo?
Anything that shows you doing a sport or activity you actually do: climbing, hiking, running, a team sport or a class.
